About us

About the Project:

The DILEMMA Project (Dealing with Gender-Based Violence and Social Inequality through Theater-Based Approaches and Digital Empowerment) is an innovative Erasmus+ initiative designed to empower young people and youth workers to address gender-based violence, discrimination, and social inequality through creative, inclusive, and participatory learning approaches.

In a time when gender-based violence, exclusion, and social discrimination continue to affect young people across Europe particularly women, marginalized communities, and those with fewer opportunities DILEMMA introduces a transformative educational approach that combines theater-based non-formal education, digital innovation, and intercultural collaboration.

At the core of DILEMMA is the development of a digital theater-learning platform featuring interactive educational resources, role-playing scenarios, video tutorials, and a digital toolbox designed to support experiential learning. Through forum theater, improvisation, storytelling, and role-play methodologies, the project creates safe and engaging environments where participants can critically explore social issues, develop empathy, and strengthen active citizenship competencies.

The project directly engages young people and youth workers from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds, with a strong emphasis on inclusion, diversity, and participation. DILEMMA equips participants with practical tools to challenge discrimination, promote equality, and contribute to more inclusive communities.

DILEMMA envisions a Europe where young people are empowered to confront social injustice, advocate for human rights, and actively contribute to democratic, inclusive, and equitable societies through creativity, dialogue, and participation.

About us:

DILEMMA is a collaborative European initiative funded under the Erasmus+ programme (KA220-YOU), bringing together partner organisations from Italy, Ireland, Spain, Cyprus, and Greece. The project addresses urgent social challenges related to gender-based violence, discrimination, inequality, and exclusion by introducing innovative, theater-based educational approaches that promote participation, empathy, and social transformation.

The project responds to the growing need for inclusive and engaging youth work methodologies capable of addressing sensitive social issues in accessible and meaningful ways. Through the integration of theater-based learning, digital education, non-formal methodologies, and participatory co-creation processes, DILEMMA transforms learning into an immersive and empowering experience.

The primary objective of DILEMMA is to equip young people and youth workers with practical competencies, creative tools, and inclusive methodologies to recognize, prevent, and address gender-based violence and discrimination while promoting democratic values, equality, human dignity, and social inclusion.

The project combines in-person and digital learning experiences through blended mobility activities, pilot-testing workshops, and an open-access online platform. Participants engage in collaborative learning processes that foster critical thinking, empathy, intercultural dialogue, and active citizenship.

DILEMMA directly involves youth workers and young people from diverse backgrounds, particularly individuals with fewer opportunities, while also strengthening the capacity of organizations working in the youth field. Ultimately, the project functions as a sustainable educational ecosystem that combines theater, digital innovation, and civic engagement to support social inclusion and long-term social change.
